On March 7, the Senate Committee on Natural Resources heard SB90, a bill to designate the Wild Mustang as the state horse of Nevada. The bill was led by the 4th-grade students of Doral Academy. The children spent several weeks learning about mustangs, including presentations from award winning author Terri Farley, the BLM, and more, learning the history and exploring all views on wild mustangs. After their study, the majority of the students wrote letters in support of SB90. The students enjoyed a day of seeing the legislature, the capital building, and learning about the legislative process. Those that got to read their letters to the committee were well-spoken and well-thought-out. We commend them for all of their diligent hard work and the long day they put in. We are so proud of this younger generation!
