Welcome to the March Pinto Post!

This is the 20th edition of the Pinto Post! For the last 20 months, the Post has had the honor of shinning a light on the incredible work the Virginia Range groups do to ensure the protection and preservation of the wild horses roaming the range.

Their dedication and love for the horses is evidenced by the daily work, performed diligently, no matter if it’s hot, cold, raining or snowing. This work spans from range management, to fertility control administration, to documentation of the horses, rescue and so much more. Thank you is not enough. The work you do saves lives, saves habitats, and saves our very special corner of the West where wild horses still run free!

Remember, our next issue will come out April 1, so please submit articles, ideas and feedback by March 20th to ThePintoPost@gmail.com or through this Google Form.

Monthly Highlights

For this volunteer highlight, the Pinto Post interviewed Deb Sutherland, a longtime wild horse photographer and newly-signed-up AWHC documenter. She has such a deep history with the Virginia Range horses and we love to read her stories and see her beautiful photographs!

For this ‘Meet the Mustangs of the Virginia Range’ article, Deb Sutherland spins a beautiful story about little Harriet, who Deb first met in 2013 and recently saw again in 2021! It’s a must read!
