Welcome to the April Pinto Post! The year is flying by and it is already April! This means we are heading into the arguably most busy months for Virginia Range volunteers—foaling season! This is a time where we observe bands coming together, mares having their babies and foals are frolicking around. This is also a time where foal rescue is in full swing and volunteers are keeping a close eye on all the horses who call the Virginia Range their home. Although this year we are expecting fewer foals thank to AWHC’s fertility control program, there’s still plenty to be done! Read on for exciting tales (or tails!) of rescue, happy endings and exciting news from all the groups who work so hard to ensure the wild horses of the Virginia Range stay wild and free. Remember, our next issue will come out May 1, so please submit articles, ideas and feedback by April 20th to ThePintoPost@gmail.com or through this Google Form.
